We have had visitors, and a glorious week break from E

So we had the newlyweds in town for Valentine's and such. They kiss a lot. We played a lot of Cataan. I won twice (Wahoo!) and we cooked a lot of delicious food. We made one venture out to the beach in between the episodes of rain. Here are some pics of the lovers, E almost splitting his head open chasing seagulls, E enjoying the barely warm enough to be at the beach, let alone in the ocean, weather, and E destroying someone else's castle:

The greatest part about having your sister come one weekend, and your inlaws come the next is....drum roll: THEY TAKE YOUR KID BACK TO WHERE HE CAME FROM FOR A WEEK!

So we celebrated our anniversary for five days instead of one. It was awesome. We went running together in the morning, out to eat at night, to California Adventure, hiking in Snow Canyon etc. And believe it or not, doing yoga is surprisingly easier without a little person tugging on your extended limb for a cup of milk; warrior three is so much easier to hold when someone isn't trying to push you over. I even went to the temple one day by myself, so that was nice. I didn't really do anything all that different during the day. I just did it a whole lot faster and more efficiently.

Oh E, I missed you greatly though. Our house was so boring and quiet without you. Yes, we did some very fun things and enjoyed ourselves immensely. But after about 48 hours, we wanted you back so that we could listen to you run incessantly up and down our hall in your bare feet. And poor Duane. He just sat there all despondent like all week. So thank you Mom, Chelsea and Natalie for the wonderful break but we are glad to have him back.

And this week we are doing the Disneyfest. Adam's family has set up camp in Newport (the inland empire is way too second rate, so we have to go visit them when they come to visit us...just kidding...kind of) so we are official annual Disney pass holders. Heaven help me. I don't know what everyone has been telling me about the Disneyland "off season." It was crowded today-a rainy Monday in February. And I felt like I was being hoarded into a concentration camp when I was trying to park my car in the Mickey and Friends parking structure. Mickey and Friends my eye. I'm just messing with you, Disneyland. We had fun today. And I am sure we will have fun all year. But mark my word, I refuse to wait in any stupid character lines. Fortunately, Eli has no idea who any of them are yet anyway so I am one step ahead of you.

My dad has video of Jack doing the Happy Dance when he met Pooh last time. Heartbreakingly cute.

And, our first year back in SoCal, Ella met Mickey in his house as she was dressed as Minnie. He scooped her up in his arms and kissed her all over, perfectly angling it for Mommy to capture on film. Ella will still tell the story of how Mickey got confused and thought she was his girlfriend Minnie, even though she has mostly figured out they aren't real.

Two of our best Disney memories that totally make it worth all of the lame times.

Then there was the time I told Mrs. Incredible she was hot stuff and she two-hand pointed at me like, "right back at ya". Hilarious.

Characters are one of the best parts.

How was the beach?
We are going to Disneyland next month and I am insisting that we go to the beach... so I was happy to see Eli in his suit playing in the water. Was it freezing?

Sounds like fun! I had to laugh out loud at the "they kiss a lot" comment. That is lovely of Adam's parents to take Eli! What a fun vacation for you. By the way, I completely agree with you about the misnomer of the "off season" at Disneyland. We have tried every supposed down time, and haven't found anything but a very crowded amusement park yet. But, obviously we like it, since we keep going back.

On another note, when we were eating dinner at Chipotle tonight, Caroline kept telling me she had a secret for me. She would lean over and say, "Eli is a pooptato," and then break in to laughter. Then she would tell me she had another secret: "Ashley is a pooptato." More hysterics. It went on for nearly ten minutes.

What's a pooptato? Whatever it is that's too funny. Kissing is fun. I miss E! Thanks again for an awesome break-it was so fun to hang out with you guys!

Woohoo! We love Disney, and just became season pass holders for Disney World. Hopefully we'll be able to go back soon. How is Dental school going right now? Aubry's still awaiting some letters to see where he gets into Law school so we can make a final choice. E is so big!

Ah, newlyweds. Doesn't that seem like so long ago? JK! Looks like a fun week. You look really cute in the beach picture. We don't get to see enough pictures of you on here. I don't picture you being a Disneyland kind of girl, but I guess living in Cali really changes a girl. Miss ya!

I still can't believe your sister is married! How fun to have her out for a visit and to to have a break from the little guy! Hope you guys had a wonderful anniversary! Sounds like you did. Hope things are going good. I just was in California for Odyssey and should've called you, but I don't know if you are even close to where we were at. We were in Temecula. Kind of random but I at least should've called to say hi from the same state!
